Pitt Lake Kokanee Bite Hot This Week
The Pitt Lake sockeye run is in full swing. Water temps are holding steady around 14°C and the fish are responding well to small spinners trolled at 40-50 ft. Got my limit by 10 AM both days last weekend. Mornings are absolutely the time to be on the water — boat traffic picks up by mid-day and the bite slows.
Best lures: chartreuse and pink Apex spoons. Reds and oranges were not producing as well as expected.
If you are heading out, launch at Grant Narrows and head north along the eastern shoreline. There is good structure around the 80 ft contour line.
Chartreuse and pink Apex spoons trolled at 40-50 ft depth. Small spinners also effective.
Water temp 14°C, clear visibility, light chop in afternoon.
